OUTSTANDING QUALITY: DELIVERING EXCELLENCE
IN LEARNING AND CHILDCARE EXPERIENCES
Children’s Progress & Attainment
93% of children across Indigo’s ELC services
progressed to school, having achieved their
developmental milestones, rising to 94% in
Castlemilk. Children not yet meeting
milestones are either diagnosed or
undergoing assessment. This is a significant
achievement in narrowing the attainment
gap.
Digital Learning & Strategy
Digital learning continues to evolve:
To strengthen early identification and
support, under-3s teams have enhanced
their tracking tools to mirror those used in
older stages, ensuring more targeted early
intervention.
Children lead digital storytelling, share
work via QR codes, and engage in live
interactions across settings.
Older children co-created resources for
Digital Learning Week and supported
others in understanding digital
wellbeing.
Staff participated in advanced training
from Glasgow City Council.
Our Early Years services maintained Care
Inspectorate top grades (5s and 6s).
Quality Improvement at Indigo at The Village
Since acquiring Indigo at the Village in June 2024, significant improvements have been made.
Targets were set to align the service with Indigo standards, including staffing, environment
design, planning systems, and family engagement. A Peer Inspection in March confirmed
outstanding progress. Key priorities ahead include:
Increasing occupancy
Strengthening community connections
Embedding consistent, high-quality practice
The previous manager at Castlemilk Early Years has now been instated as the new manager at
Indigo at the Village to support in providing high-quality experiences for the children.
